  • The Bright, Boyfriend Blazer: Express One Button Boyfriend Blazer

It fits like something you might have stolen from the ex who claimed he worked on Wall Street. It's oversized and has that single button that men are always buttoning and unbuttoning. But it's something all your own. In a bold color. With seaming that contours your curves. Made to last longer than your ex did. • The Pleated Skirt: Anne Klein Charmeuse Pleated Maxi Skirt

The slink. The sass. The skirt. Pleated skirts are the ultimate Spring 2022 basic. From super mini versions to styles that hit the floor, the pleated skirt feels ultra-feminine. I like midi to maxi lengths: something that doesn't cut you off weirdly but also doesn't sweep the floor. This style from Anne Klein is particularly chic because of the charmeuse fabric. It should very much go under a minimalist, but classic, trench. SHOP IT NOW: https://shopstyle.it/l/bExCU p.s. - don't forget to get your extra cash back by using Rakuten to start your shopping. • The Classic Trench: Uniqlo Trench Coat

It's the coat you'll have forever...classic and chic. This take on the traditional trench has clean, minimalist vibes. It will go from uptown to downtown to everything between. The covered closure means that you get a sleek silhouette, free of fuss (aka buttons). But when it's open, flowing around your body, you get all the preppy-cool vibes that a good trench coat brings. Typically an investment piece, this trench coat by Uniqlo comes in at under $100. • Cardi Weather: Rib-Knit Cardigan by H&M

When you call the desert your home, you never know what kind of weather you'll wake up to. Maybe it'll be 76 and sunny. Or maybe the wind will be whipping around clouds of gray. For the days when it's the latter, you'll want to have this ribbed cardi on hand. Available in a pastel palette of colors, it's the piece you'll reach for all spring. Over a knit skirt and an oversized shirt, you're the queen of the streets (don't forget your chic sneaks). With coordinating pastel trousers and a trench, you're a fresh take on professionalism. Super cute. Ultra versatile. Always prepared. Bring it, desert weather. SHOP IT NOW: https://shopstyle.it/l/bEqAG

  • The Crochet Dress: Crocheted Fringe Midi Dress by & Other Stories

Crochet is here to add charm to your spring wardrobe. But one wrong move and you'll look like you're wearing your great-grandmother's afghan. No one wants that. To look trendy and not trite, try a crochet dress that can be thrown over more polished pieces. This dress by & Other Stories is the perfect length to put over a slightly wide-leg trouser and a blousy button-down shirt. If the weather turns chilly, top it with a trench. And that fringe on the bottom? It will totally hook your inner boheme. All around a perfect catch. SHOP IT NOW: https://shopstyle.it/l/bEqiP

  • The Basic Blazer: Zara Basic Blazer

It's late. You're buzzed. All those frou-frou cocktails got to you. Thank goodness for Uber. Upon letting yourself in, you immediately shrug off your go-to blazer - the one with the notched lapels and perfectly placed button. Sometimes you wear it to pull your outfit together. Other times you wear it to add effortless cool. It doesn't seem to matter what you throw that blazer over, it elevates everything. Even tossing it over the back of your dining room chair makes it look more sophisticated. Jacket off, you fall into bed, makeup and all. Morning brings smoky-er eyes and the kind of bedhead you couldn't replicate if you tried. A text invitation for coffee means you only have time to brush your teeth and change into a carefree dress. Okay, and a little sprucing of the makeup. Lipstick smears are not sexy. But last night's blazer that you now throw over your shoulders on the way out is. Toodle-oo! A classic denim jacket. Is there a more essential wardrobe staple? It instantly adds cool to whatever you’re wearing. Quickly take down the glam on your favorite party dress by simply throwing a casual denim jacket over your shoulders. Pair it with tweed pants and riding boots to transform yourself into a Ralph Lauren model. Or wear it over this season’s chunky knits to add extra warmth and a little ruggedness. The more you wear it, the better it will be, so let it become your go-to layer all year long. SHOP IT NOW: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDjae

  • Size: You - Amazon’s Made for You Custom T-shirt

Searching for the perfect white tee is a fool’s quest. I would know. But my treasure hunt was not completely in vain. I did not find perfection, but I did discover a most bespoke white tee - and for less than one would imagine. Perhaps the best part about this customized tee - besides the fact that it comes in a couple of lengths, necklines, weights, and colors - is that it bypasses all that nonsensical sizing stuff. What’s small? Large? Well it all depends, I suppose (said in my best lawyer voice). With a Made For You tee from Amazon, there’s only one size: your size. And it’s near perfection. • The Perfect Pair: 7 For All Mankind's B(AIR) Authentic Denim Dojo in Fate

SHOP THEM NOW: https://shopstyle.it/l/bDaL4 I still remember when I fell in love with these jeans. They arrived, surreptitiously, in a style box one summer afternoon. The rationalist in me immediately brushed them off upon looking at the price tag. But that was before I put them on. That was before they slid, like butter, across my curvaceous thighs, widening rear, and middle-aged pooch. And they zipped without a hitch. Lumps and bumps? No match for these supreme jeans. With enough stretch to be comfortable, but not enough to be falling off your hips at day’s end. They were everything of my denim dreams. I was especially sad when I packed on a few too many pounds and had to let them go. But they’re exactly the kind of classic that you pull out your credit card for to buy again and again.

  • What I Kept: Trendsend November 2021

NOTE: When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network. One of the downsides of unboxing fashion on YouTube is that I don't always get to show what I actually keep. Usually, I don't make any final decisions until after the video goes live. Sometimes I like to try things on again or style the item with other things in my closet. And sometimes I look at my bank account and decide not to splurge! So I use my blog to report back on my final choices. You'll be able to check here for updates on what I kept and what I sent back. Today I've got my November Trendsend box to share with you. The video is right below and then my selections are below that. Enjoy! • ALLISON JOY Francesca Button Front Halter Top $49.99 I adored the pattern on this halter top. I really wish it could have been on another style top...something bra friendly and that didn't have a million fabric buttons that were impossible to do up. This top wins the award for "Most Irritating Clasps," hands down. Beyond that, I didn't think this was the most flattering top and can see why it's been marked down. SENT BACK. p.s. - Think this top is for you? You can check it out here. For my money, I prefer this Allison Joy Wynn Snap Front Tank. It's bra friendly, but still has a trendy, dark floral pattern. • BB DAKOTA Evermoore Dress $79 This is a pretty body-con dress...you've been warned! I prefer to not have my clothes cling to me in this manner, so it's not my cup of tea. That being said, I loved the neutral color and think this would be lovely layered under something like a vest. SENT BACK. p.s. - If body-con dresses are your jam, you can check this one out here. If you're looking for something a little less form-fitting, I'd try this one. • LA MADE Cowl Racer Tank $49.99 This is simply bad design. There is no structure built into the neckline, causing it to flop around constantly. So irritating! If not for suck a glaring flaw, this might have been an okay tank. SENT BACK. p.s. - I suggest you skip this tank and try this one from Express instead. • LINE AND DOT Cardi Coat $108 This is actually a very nice substitute for a jacket on days that don't require a heavy coat. The material is substantial and cozy. Layered over a business casual outift, you're going to be ready to face a crisp, fall day. I was paused by the price. Although I'm sure this cardi coat is worth every penny, my gut was telling me I could probably find something similar at a better price (however, see my post script...) SENT BACK. p.s. - If you're in the market for something like this, you should definitely check the Line And Dot version out. I did some searching and turns out, most cardi coats are in the $100 range. So this is a really great option. • MICHAEL STARS Gigi Mesh Pullover $89.99 This mesh pullover was giving me all the 80s vibes! I really did love the retro look of this top, but I really didn't love the price. SENT BACK. p.s. - This top has had a price drop since I received it. It may be worth checking out. • MICHAEL STARS Boatneck Tank $68 The ribbing on this tank makes it SUPER soft. Of course, most things Michael Stars are super soft, so I wasn't surprised. It also has a nice fit IF you're not as busty as I am. This tank is great for layering under sweaters or blazers. SENT BACK. p.s. - Here's the Michael Stars top, if you're interested. BUT. Before you decide on it, check out this AMAZING $12 body suit from Target that gives similar vibes, has a better fit on most body types, and is so much less expensive! • PEYTON JENSEN Leigha Smocked Skirt $49.99 I'm not really into skirts, so when I find one I like, there's something very special about it. This one has the most comfortable waistband and comes in such a great pattern. The length makes it perfect to wear with tall boots for fall or sandals when spring rolls back around. If you're between sizes, size down. KEPT. p.s. - Check out this beautiful skirt here. • SPANX Leather Like Jogger $148 Wow, these babies are cozy! Way too cozy for Southern Arizona. I'm pretty sure I'd have a heat stroke in these. LOL! Even still, these have been the best fitting leather bottoms I've tried on this year. Factoring out the heat they produce, I'm still not convinced these are best ones out there. SENT BACK. p.s. - Check out this beautiful skirt here. • SUNDRY Siene Tie Dye Midi Skirt $59.99 Another body-con piece that didn't make me feel comfortable. It looks great on the women modeling it, but on me? Not so much. It accentuated my curves in the worst way, making my hips look exaggerated. The fabric though, was buttery soft, and the length was perfect for showing off your shoes. SENT BACK. p.s. - See it on the models here. • Z SUPPLY Emery Jogger $39.99 These joggers are the epitome of laid back and relaxed. The French Terry is soft and cozy, making these the perfect pant for hanging at home. I did find that there was an overly relaxed design to them, particularly through the hips. Though I would never wear these beyond my driveway, I spent a lot of time considering these... SENT BACK. p.s. - Are you considering them, too? Check them out here. I'm actually considering these from Old Navy. I was disappointed that there wasn't more in this box to love! I started off with such high hopes, plus there were so many pieces. But, alas... What did you think of this box? Is there anything in this collection that you're interested in? Let me know what you think! • What I Kept: October 2021 Stitch Fix

Today I've got my October Stitch Fix box to share with you. The video is right below and then my selections are below that. Enjoy! • PAPERMOON Conway Faux Wrap Blouse, $38 This tank was a good piece. I was afraid of this muted purple but paired with the right sweater or jacket, it pops. I'm wary of tie-front tops, but again, this tank surprised me. Because the tie was off to the side, it worked. For me, because I carry weight low, if a tie is right in the middle (as they often are), they add bulk where I don't want it. This tank did the opposite. But I had a feeling this would be a piece I wouldn't reach for often enough. So... SENT BACK. p.s. - This tank is available to buy via Stitch Fix in several colorways, but, surprisingly, purple is my favorite. If you're new to Stitch Fix, you can get up to $9 cash back on your purchase by using Rakuten. Not a Rakuten member? Sign up here for a $30 bonus! • STITCHES & STRIPES Keagan Ribbed Duster Cardigan, $78 Another great surprise piece! I wondered if the collar of this sweater would lay funny, but it stayed flat. I loved the golden color of this duster and thought it would make a fantastic outer layer. But after a quick search online, I found tons of similar cardigans priced much better. Since this piece wasn't anything particularly special... SENT BACK. p.s. - Here's the Stitch Fix version of this cardigan. For a more textured version, try this best seller from Koh'ls. Don't forget to use Rakuten for 10% cash back! • BOBEAU Bessie Popcorn Skull Pullover, $68 My stylist made a valid, but incorrect, assumption that because I have an edgy style, I'm into skulls. I'm not. My love affair with all things rock & roll stops short of skulls, bones, and skeletons. What can I say? I'm not THAT hardcore. LOL! Beyond the knit skull across the front of this boucle knit sweater, I found the sleeve length to be short. I would have preferred this sweater in an XL (I got a large) so that it would be oversized and the sleeves would be longer. The material was super soft and this would be a cute piece for someone more committed to their edginess. SENT BACK. p.s. - I might try this Bobeau Popcorn Ribbed Sweater instead. It has the same material without the "edgy" detail 😂 • LETY & ME Mary Long Sleeve Pullover, $46 Another top that would be cute on someone else. I favorited this piece in my Freestyle Shop on the Stitch Fix app. I'm glad they sent it to me so that I could try it out before purchasing it. I loved the geometric, polka dot print, but it ended up not working out for me. Something about it didn't light me up. There were no sparks. So... SENT BACK. • MAVI Kathleen High Rise Boyfriend Jean, $88 They should call these relaxed skinnies. There was anything very boyfriend about the fit. But that's beside the point. They were comfortable and if this was spring instead of fall, I would have purchased them. But, right now, I'm looking for full-length jeans in a more relaxed fit. SENT BACK. This was a good box from Stitch Fix. I have tempered my expectations when it comes to this style box. I used to count on them for special pieces that I would love for years. Now they are best for basics - particularly if your budget is under $100. I have seen more fashionable pieces on the app, but they are well over the $100 mark. So, when I'm ready to splurge a bit, I'll definitely request a box with a higher pricing point. But for now, there's nothing I need from Stitch Fix, so it's going all back. Do you think I made the right decision? Let me know what you think! If you want to give Stitch Fix a try, you can use my referral link to save $25 off your first purchase: click here!
