NOTE: When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network. It might be me, but style boxes are underwhelming lately. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, but everything feels...blah. I was excited to receive my Trendsend by Evereve box this month because they usually have great pieces. They bring the happy (even if it's on the pricey side). Take a look at this month's box and let me know if anything sparked joy for you. Then read below to see if I found something to love, too. ALLISON JOY Raquel Mesh Tank $19.99 This is the second time I've received this top. Still don't like it. The colors and the print don't work for me. Plus the material is waiting for me to ruin it by accidentally dragging my nail across it. SENT BACK (again) HUDSON Gemma Short $89.99 These were SO comfortable. I wish they hadn't been so long in the rise. I could use a pair of shorts like this. But I can't justify a premium price for something that doesn't fit right. Yes, I could have them tailored, but who tailors cut-offs?? I'll pass on that. SENT BACK You can get a pair here: https://evereve.com/gemma-short-46999-c KUT FROM THE KLOTH High Rise Fab Ab Natalie Bootcut $89 These jeans were perfect. If I didn't already have a similar pair, I would have kept them. The details on them made them feel unique. I always like that. SENT BACK These have fab reviews. You should definitely get a pair here! LOVESTITCH Izabel Tie Dye Wrap $44.99 Colorful, flowy, and lightweight. It's everything you want a summer wrap to be. I don't pick up wraps/kimonos/caftans often because of the heat factor where I live. But I like to have them on hand. They add character to a casual outfit. KEPT You can find it here: https://evereve.com/izabel-tie-dye-wrap-46389-c ROAN + RYAN Clara Ikat Tank $44.99 Nothing about this top was appealing to me. It is not busty-gal friendly. Front keyholes rarely lay nicely over my ample chest. It's not the top's fault, it's just how it is. I'm also not a fan of ikat prints, so I have no interest in adding this to my closet. SENT BACK Love an ikat print? Get the top here: https://evereve.com/clara-ikat-tank-47066-c Z SUPPLY City Tank $29.99 The drape on this top is, again, not busty-gal friendly. The way it falls suggests that it was not designed with a 34G chest in mind. Again, it's not the top's fault. But it drops off like a cliff, which is not my best look. SENT BACK If you have a smaller frame, check it out! It's on sale here: https://evereve.com/city-tank-46272-c COMMANDO Faux Leather Paperbag Pant $188 Whew! Alright, to be fair, these pants probably look good on someone else. But they did not flatter my short-waisted frame. Plus they looked so bulky across the midsection, IMO. Plus the price! I prefer not to pay a premium for trendy items like this. I won't get my money's worth out of them before they become passé. SENT BACK If you're into these pants, you can find them here: https://evereve.com/faux-leather-paper-bag-pant-47600-c. You might also like these similar styles: n:PHILANTHROPY Morena Crop Faux Leather Pants, BB Dakota Skin in the Game Faux Leather Pants, or Alice + Olivia Liliana Vegan Leather Paper Bag Pant. This wasn't the box I was hoping for. I kept one item so that my styling fee wasn't wasted. I will be spending more time doing my own shopping for a while, rather than rely on style boxes. It's not working out for me. I am (obviously) a stylist myself, but I request style boxes for convenience. I love to shop, but, like many of you, going shopping is a chore. It's easier if I let someone else do it for me. The problem is that I can't seem to get my unique style across to these strangers. I am 100% into using style boxes, but only if you have a firm grasp on your own style. Otherwise, you'll end up filling your closet with a lot of random pieces that don't make sense for you. Can you imagine what my closet would look like if I got my "style" from Stitch Fix or Trendsend? Use style boxes as a shopping tool - not as a way to discover your style. If you need help discovering your style, DM me on Instagram. I'm happy to help! Meanwhile, if you want to give Trendsend a try: click here! • What I Kept: August 2021 Stitch Fix (Part 2)

NOTE: When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network. My love affair with Stitch Fix is such a fickle one. It had been going so well for such a long time...I guess it was inevitable that it would fall into a lull. We have definitely been at a low point for about the last year. If I wasn't a Style Pass member (Style Pass members pay a one-time styling fee to get unlimited boxes throughout the year. Currently it is by invitation only), we would have broken up. But, when I was about to accept the monotony, Stitch Fix changed things up! You can hear all about it in the video below. And then keep reading to see what I decided to keep and what got sent back. See you on the other side! COSMIC BLUE LOVE Ava Button-Down Top $64 I am surprised at how much I like this shirt with it tied in the front. It's light, breezy, and perfect for the end of summer. What I don't care for is the price. Plus I have a similar-style camp shirt. So it's a "no" for me. SENT BACK I found a similar top in a gorgeous chambray on eBay DANIEL RAINN Narien Smocked Detail Blouse $58 What a bright, sunny top! I don't own a lot of floral prints, but this one is so subtle that it works for me. I'm a big fan of all things yellow (the color warms up my skin), so I am drawn to this top. However, that neckline is too hot for Southern Arizona weather and I don't have anywhere to wear this right now. I must think practically. SENT BACK This top is available on Stitch Fix in this yellow as well as a beautiful red with swiss polka dots LIVERPOOL Trey Crop Skinny Capri Trousers $88 At first glance, these are great pants. If you are a little less curvy through the hips AND have a more average rise, these would be great casual pants. Patch pockets are tricky for me, though. If they are monotone (meaning the pocket and stitching match the pants) they're okay. But these didn't work because there is so much stretch in them. They kept sliding off my waist. As they slid down, they brought the pocket lower on my leg. That made my leg get shortened visually. In other words, they threw off my proportions. And we can't have that, can we? SENT BACK COSMIC BLUE LOVE Adrianne Boyfriend Distressed Jeans $88 I love, love, love these jeans. These could be my go-to pair for a while. They are a great straight leg cut and fit so comfortably on my waist. The lack of stretch means they stay up (no tugging, yessss!). I had no intention of dropping coins on jeans right now, but I'm glad that I did. KEPT (obviously) Get yourself a pair of these cuties on eBay. Or get these similar Kut From The Kloth jeans (the reviews are so good). KATE SPADE Small Square Studs $38 So cute! These are a party in an earring! And who doesn't love a party?? I did find a few of these floating around on Poshmark for a tad cheaper. But I'll be honest, I prefer to buy earrings brand new. And for a couple of dollars, it didn't make sense for me to buy them used. KEPT (party on!) Here's a pair I found on eBay and on Poshmark. I know I only kept two items, but this was actually a pretty great box for Stitch Fix. If not for those pants throwing things off, it would have been a 5/5! Let me know what you think! • What I Kept: August 2021 Stitch Fix

NOTE: When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network. One of the downsides of unboxing fashion on YouTube is that I don't always get to show what I actually keep. Usually I don't make any final decisions until after the video goes live. Sometimes I like to try things on again or style the item with other things in my closet. And sometimes I look at my bank account and decide not to splurge! So I'm going to use my blog to report back on my final choices. You'll be able to check here for updates on what I kept and what I sent back. Today I've got my (first) August Stitch Fix box (I have another one en route). The video is right below and then my selections are below that. Enjoy! • PINK CLOVER Daisee Button Back Detail Top, Navy/White, $34 This was a great basic with fun details. It was super soft and very versatile. I see myself getting a lot of wear out of this. And the price point was very reasonable. KEPT! p.s. - If you like this top, there's a plethora of them available on the resales sites like Poshmark and eBay (here's a cute one in gray). Cut and paste the item's name into Google and they'll pop up. And there's tons of colors! • KUT FROM THE KLOTH Ellen Capri High Rise Denim, Black, $88 I loved these pants. Such a great cut. But it was the price that kept me from purchasing them. After a month of very big purchases, I'm not ready to drop coins on jeans. As it turns out I already have a pair of Kut jeans that are high rise and cropped. I don't wear them often because they have this weird chewed hem. They make me look like a Flintstones character. LOL! But if I turn the hem up, they almost look like the Ellen Capris and I didn't even have to spend the 88 dollars! Yay for shopping my closet! SENT BACK. p.s. - As of this writing, Kut From The Kloth is having their End of Season Sale with styles up to 60% off! If you liked the jeans in the video, you might like these. • MARKET & SPRUCE Syriah Embroidered Top, White, $64 It was hard to tell in the video, but this top had pin tucking at the shoulders that kept puffing up. It looked liked two little poofs of tissue at my shoulders. Not cute. Also the top wasn't my aesthetic. But I could see it being cute on someone else. SENT BACK. • DANIEL RAINN Abrienne Split Neck Cap Sleeve Top, Polka Dot, $54 Another top that would be cute on someone else. Cap sleeves are such a tough thing for me. Nine times out of ten they are a no-go. This was definitely was one those times. SENT BACK. p.s. - Wanna shop more Daniel Rainn tops? Click here for 20% off. • KALIEGH Adalia Knit Jumpsuit, Navy, $58 Very, very cute! But not bra friendly. Also it had a weird seam across the bust. Plus I have something similar. So... SENT BACK. My relationship with Stitch Fix has been struggling lately. This box was a bit of an improvement over other boxes I've received this year, but as you can see, I still only kept one item (which my bank account is happy about!). As I mentioned in the video, I've tempered my expectations of Stitch Fix. Right now they're great for basics. I wouldn't suggest them for stylish or trendy pieces to round out your wardrobe. Do you agree? Let me know what you think! If you want to give Stitch Fix a try, you can use my referral link to save $25 off your first purchase: click here!

  • Style Therapy: Finding A Style That Aligns With You

People have asked me to help them find their style as if it were a misplaced pair of reading glasses. But finding one’s style is less like a treasure hunt, and more like self discovery. Like therapy, the key is to take part in the journey. With enough analysis your style will grow, evolve, and surprise you. Like life, your style can take abrupt turns, often landing you in the loveliest of places. But where do you begin? Style discovery should start with inspiration. I like to look around my life to see who is currently influencing me. It might be a celebrity, a politician, a musician, or a friend. I don’t even need to admire their style. Maybe I love the way they build community or speak up for the voiceless. I’m not in search of fashion, I'm in search of a vibe. I’m looking for the qualities I see or want to see in myself. To me, great personal style is something that is in alignment with who you are. And typically who you are is reflected in the people you admire. Once I have a list of people I value, and why, I start looking for themes. Are a lot of these people ambitious, unapologetic, or rebellious? This is where I start thinking about style. Are my icons street wear enthusiasts who push boundaries? Or are they community leaders who let their clothes send a subtle message? I start jotting down all the adjectives I can think of that describe my style influencers. As I take notes, I watch for recurring terms that describe myself or the self I aspire to be. Next, it’s time to create a mood board. Pinterest is my favorite place for this. It’s easy to search your favorite styles and style icons to build a reference guide to keep you on track. From my list of recurring words and themes, I start looking for photos that I vibe with. To do this, add “style” to the end of an adjective. For example, “artsy style” or “boho style.” As I see images that speak to me, I pin them to a board. I go crazy with it because I can always edit later. Anchored in my love for the artistry of music, I’m moved by an edgy, old school, rock and roll aesthetic. Sometimes it’s more bohemian, à la Lenny Kravitz. Sometimes it’s more sensual like a Bedtime Stories-era Madonna. But at the end of the day, no matter who is influencing my style, it is always uniquely me. This project always leaves me with a board full of images - 40, 50, or more. But usually another set of themes starts emerging. I’ll see lots of midi skirts or biker jackets or colorful sneakers. I take note of those things because they will likely be the types of items I want to add to my wardrobe. I’ll also note images or outfits that seem out of place. You might like the style, but somehow it's not you. Those pictures get edited out, deleted. I continue this addition and subtraction over the course of a couple of days. I don’t like to do it all at once as it’s easy to get swept down a rabbit hole. Plus my emotions are different on different days. That change in temperament can surface different responses as I search. I want to capture all that. Even after you’ve defined your style, you’ll want to keep managing this board over time. Let it ebb and flow as your life does. My current board has a lot of style choices with wider leg pants and oversized sweaters. When it started I had a lot of skinny jeans and fitted shirts. The aesthetic has evolved, but the vibe hasn’t. I still have a classic style with an edgy energy, but how I express it has shifted. Without a doubt it will shift again. Finding your style takes into consideration not only what to wear, but how you wear it. Your don't build your closet on trends or magazine editorials, but rather by what works for you. If you don't, you’ll continue to languish in a style you don’t love and that doesn’t fit your everyday life. Later, as I’m editing my closet and shopping for new clothes, I’ll look at my style in light of my day to day routines. Because I’m a busy babe, I own a lot of jeans and t-shirts. To me, that’s easy dressing. I also own a lot of flat, supportive shoes since my joints don’t support my high heel fascination any more. So when I’m shopping, I look for comfortable shoes with studs or buckles and tees in punchy colors. I use my mood board as inspiration, but reality as my guide. The final touch to defining personal style is to label it. I find that a label helps me when I’m out shopping or working with a styling service like Stitch Fix. Currently my personal style is Rocker Chic - it’s classic and timeless, with a bit of unapologetic edge. And, as expected, that’s generally how I would describe my own personality. So my style reflects - or aligns with - who I am. When I get dressed, using this definition as my guideline, I am empowered and ready to take on the world. Getting your style to align with your personality is a contemplative process. Sometimes the journey is arduous. But like good therapy, getting to a better version of yourself is worth it. And should you land somewhere that doesn’t feel quite right? Style is a growth process so you’re never stuck. That’s part of the fun. Whenever it fits your fancy you begin the evaluation again, tweaking or overhauling as you go. The goal is not to marry yourself to a particular look. The goal is to know yourself well enough to know what makes you look - and feel - 100% you.

  • Iced Tea, Lawn Parties, And Closet Cleanses: The Perfect Long Weekend

Long summer weekends evoke images of backyard barbecues and children splashing in pools. There are tall glasses of lemonade and pitchers of sweet iced tea. The warm air fills with the smokiness of the grill and the freshness of cut grass. It’s the perfect, all-American backdrop to what we actually do: clean. I am no exception. I am clearing out my closet this weekend, purging the too little, the too crazy, and the never worn. Fireworks over skinny jeans and regrettable shoe purchases will ignite. But despite the work ahead, being knee-deep in piles of clothes is my idea of bliss. Three days of me, my clothes, and self-care breaks sounds glorious! To say I’ve amassed a collection of prints and patterns, textures and trends, is an understatement. I’ve spent my adult life assembling fashion, allowing it to cumulate and contract over the years. Bounded by trends, style, and the physical space of my closet, I like to annually cull and refine, particularly on a long weekend like this. Last year’s edit rendered one of the best editions of my closet yet, thanks to long stretches of home life. My closet was lovingly (and sometimes painstakingly) managed to match the aesthetic I had been striving for. But after a year of additions, the exhibition has grown too big. It is now overflowing its borders, overwhelming instead of delighting the senses. And so it’s time to pare down again, creating the next iteration of my closet by raking through it with a fine-tooth comb. Of course, that means some thought must go into what this exhibition will look like over the next year. Who do I want to be when I get dressed for the next 365 days? Last year I was intent on being a cool girl rock star. I embraced the relaxed fit and collected edgy details. That rock and roll aesthetic is a vibe that I've been running with for a while. I doubt it will be disappearing any time soon. But how it comes across does change. Some years I’m feeling a bit bohemian, like a groupie following her favorite rock band. And some years I’m feeling like I should be on tour with Bananarama. You never know. I haven’t settled on a theme for the next year, but I have a feeling Harry Styles makes an appearance. Whatever label I plaster on this year’s style, there will be some hard choices to make over what to keep and what to toss. What is adding value to my closet and what is toxic? Like any good detox, a closet cleanse rarely happens overnight. As anyone who’s done a closet purge will tell you, it’s exhausting. It’s not only about the physical act of trying everything on and sorting it. It’s also about the mental energy expended trying to detach the emotions from the clothing. Which makes a long weekend the perfect opportunity to do it. You can break it into sections, making time for hair masks and manicures between rounds of Will It Stay Or Will It Go. Instead of being a grueling project, as it tends to be, it becomes relaxing summer activity. It feels like playing bocce ball on a fresh-cut lawn with a glass of sangria.

  • Heat’s Up, Cards Down: Why I’m Going On A Shopping Hiatus

It's the first of July. The sun is high and so are the temperatures. Something about the heaviness of the heat makes me want to slow down and sit a spell. This extends to my shopping habit as well. July makes me want to ice my credit cards and enjoy the fruits of my (shopping) labor. I love to shop. As a self-proclaimed fashion curator, I find it relaxing - even therapeutic. My lust for shopping, even under the summer heat, doesn't wane. But too much of a good thing gets indulgent and makes you gluttonous. Yes, even for the most dedicated hobbyist. The collecting overcomes the collection, burying the treasures you hunted for. It's time for a break, a pause, a breath to enjoy. As it turns out, my husband and I are in need of some big-ticket items this season. I pulled the trigger on a mid-priced stove to replace the older one that is moving into our other property. I also have my eye on a new microwave for the same reason. Plus, we have some large bills rolling in due to a chaotic spring. So when the purse strings started getting a little tight, I knew it was time to reign things in. It’s not that big of a deal. I’m not in need of anything. I have more items in my closet than even most women find reasonable. But, again, it’s my job. I did create two exceptions for myself: a Stitch Fix box that was already scheduled, and a bra haul - because it’s overdue. Other than that, I’ll be taking a break from buying jeans and dresses and shoes and tees. No jewelry or scarves or hats or purses. For 31 days. I can do it. I have piles of pants awaiting their debut and dresses I’ve yet to rip the tags off of. Thank goodness I did a shoe haul early in June. I’ll be fine. While I’m waiting for these 31 days to pass, I’ll be keeping myself busy by culling my closet collection. Mid-summer is such a great time to do a closet cleanse. It’s something about the heat that makes you want to pare down and go minimal. Your mind is in carefree mode, conducive to letting things go. In the past, this was the run-up to the big fall fashion season. It was the time to make room for all those back to school/back to work/post-vacation/cooler weather purchases. I don’t know if that’s much the case anymore, particularly in our post-pandemic world. Does fashion even have seasons anymore? Kids go back to school in August (at least on the west coast) when the weather is still blistering hot. And with WFH a solidified reality, is summer still vacation season? Or, are we now vacationing from January to December with our laptops in tow? Those, I suppose, are questions for another time. But in honor of the traditions of the Before Times, I declare a summer closet detox as appropriate. Thus, that’s how I’ll be wiling away these 31 days while I wait for shopping to resume. I’ll revisit my style icons to make sure we’re still in alignment. I’ll ponder what emotions I want to evoke when I get dressed. I’ll define my style and make Pinterest boards in ode to it. I’ll try on all my clothes, I’ll keep, toss, and sell. I’ll reorganize and style. I’ll enlist the help of my favorite shopping buddies and clothing experts. I’ll make future shopping lists and research where to go. With a defined style, detoxed closet, and purposeful shopping list, I’ll head back out on August 1st. I'll dive, shoes first, back into shopping, with all the glee of a child shopping for the first day of school. It will be the perfect relief for the end of summer heat.

  • Splurge Or Save: Summer Dresses

Note: This page contains affiliate links, meaning I receive commissions for purchases made through those links, at no cost to you. Looking for summer dresses, but not sure if you should splurge or save on them? My quick answer: SAVE. Let me tell you why: Summer dresses are designed for quick, easy dressing. That means you're going to reach for them time and time again. By the end of the season, they'll likely be a little beat up or worn out. So, search for budget friendly options at places like Target, Ross, or Nordstrom Rack. Also consider "like new" or "new with tags" options on ThredUp. Make sure they can stand alone as a fresh, summer look, or will dress up with a jean jacket or a blazer. Search out dresses that will hold up to at least 12 wears and are easy to care for. Buy two or three and you should be set for the season! P.S. - When I'm purchasing easy, summer dresses, I like to keep them under $50, or an average cost per wear of $4 or less. The more wear you can get out of them, the better deal they are!

  • Fall Stitch Fix Box - October 2020

Some of the links below are affiliate or referral links, meaning, at no extra cost to you, I will earn a commission or credit if you click through and make a purchase. Are we still fall transitioning? Well, if you live in my part of the world (wassup, Phoenicians?!) you are! While the temps are coming down, we're still not out of the summer weather. We're still twirling in our summer dresses by day, but the overnight temperatures have cooled enough to warrant layering (like, the thinnest layers ever) at night. My latest Stitch Fix box had me covered for this lovely time of year and I can't wait for you to see what they sent me. **Stitch Fix is a style service that sends you a curated box of clothing to suit your tastes and needs. For a styling fee of $20/box, you can have five items sent to your door. Then try them on with what you already have in your closet! Have Fixes sent to you monthly, or anytime your closet needs a boost- it's up to you. To get started with Stitch Fix, use my referral link for a $25 credit - click here!** VIXBE CATALEN V-NECK TOP ($42) - KEPT IT! Let's start with this bold, leopard print top in a beautiful mustard color. If you've been watching me on YouTube for a minute, you know I love a leopard print. Like, I cannot get enough. So I was not mad to see yet another leopard print top in my Fix. The color on this one is so bright and the fit is on point. I recently let go of two cropped, tie-front leopard print tops (as of this writing, they are available to buy in my Poshmark closet, here). I liked them, but they were too short for my taste - particularly with summer waning (although they'd be cute with faux leather leggings or high waist, velour track pants - both hot items this season). This VIXBE top is more my vibe. The elastic on the sleeve hem ensures that the sleeves stay hiked on the arm. Very chic. I can't wait to pair it up with my own faux leather pieces this fall. When the spring comes back around, this will be lovely with white pants. BOBEAU ELOISA MIX MEDIA POCKET KNIT TEE ($44) - KEPT IT! This mixed material tee surprised me. I am VERY picky about tees, but this one was lovely - even with the gigantic pocket at the bust. I'm not usually a fan of such pockets, but because this one was in such contrast to the top, it worked. The rainbowed snakeskin print of the pocket picks up in the back, making this ordinary tee quite edgy. It was soft and lightweight (why are so many t-shirts stiff and heavy?) and the sleeves fell at the right spot for me. The slight angle to the sleeves gives the appearance of slimmer arms (thank you, Jesus! lol!). The minute I put this on, I knew it was a keeper. LOVE ELLIE NALANI RIBBED CARDIGAN ($46) - KEPT IT! I was on the fence about whether I wanted to keep this cardigan, but a few things won me over. The first thing was the color. I have a blazer in this same shade that I love. Unfortunately, it's a little snug around the arms. I thought this cardigan might be an easier-to-wear alternative. I also liked the mixture of textures on this piece. You can't tell in the photo, but there are a few different textures going on. I love items that are unique in ways like that. Finally, the length of this cardi is so good (read: it doesn't look like a bathrobe). Cardigans are not usually my jam, but this is going to be a great layering piece and something I reach for again and again. TRIBAL FIA BOOTCUT TROUSER ($58) - SENT IT BACK I requested a pair of black pants for this Fix. I asked that they not be skinny, denim, or a legging. As for the request, my stylist nailed it. These were a beautiful, stretchy, rayon blend pant with plenty of length (I have a 33" inseam). I know this material wrinkles after every wash, but with some care, these types of pants wear well over time. My problem with these pants was that they were a little bit big. My stylist sent me a 12. I'm usually a 10. Much to my chagrin, the sizing wasn't WAY off. I almost kept them. Their oversized-ness gave a cool-girl vibe that I was feeling. They weren't falling off of me (thanks to the wide, elastic waist), but they didn't exactly fit either. They felt TOO roomy. So, I sent them back. I'll keep an eye out for another pair of similar pants with that slouchy vibe and a better fit. MAX STUDIO MILEY RUFFLE DETAIL WRAP MIDI DRESS ($68) - SENT IT BACK I partially blame myself for this dress not working out better. One of the keys to getting great Fixes is to make sure that your style profile is always up to date. It's been a while since I'd peeked at mine and it was definitely time to update. Based on my then-current profile, this dress should have been a good fit. But I'm no longer a M/L or 8/10 in dresses. I'm squarely in the Large, size 10 category. Also, I've had a proper bra fitting since my last profile update. My bust is much larger than I had listed. So it was obvious why this dress barely covered my chest and wouldn't nicely wrap over my waist. But, I blame my stylist for sending me this frilly style. The odd print on top of the ruffles was too much for me. Although I could see toughening up this look with a moto jacket, on its own it was a hard pass. And that's it! This was actually a pretty fun box! It was the closest to being a 5/5 that I've had in a bit. I usually do a full video where you can see me talk through the whole box, but long-form video has been an issue lately. To see me do a super quick try on of these items, check out this Reel on my Instagram page. While you're there, follow me for daily style and shopping inspo. Can't wait to see your face over there! Until then... Live with love, Tuesday

  • Embrace And Languish In The Summer That Is

Is there anything better than an impromptu weekend getaway? Hardly. Unfortunately, that's a near impossibility this summer. But if I could align the stars for a weekend respite, I know where I'd go (Palm Springs) and what I'd pack (plenty of poolside worthy coverups). A lot of us are thinking of fall because the kids are back to school (whatever that looks like) and/or we're over this isolated summer. But I hesitate to skip over this last hurrah of the season. It's important to live in the moment - particularly now - and be mindful of what we have, rather than longing for what's next. I find that to be no more true than when it comes to our closets. Rather than pining away for blazers and boots, let's savor the end of season sales. Yes, SALES! Many of the season's best sales will drop in August instead of their usual July. And they'll be offering up all the summer trends. Let's also relish in end of summer dressing for the trips we'll take (perhaps only to the backyard) or the ones we're dreaming of (quiet, beach bungalow, anyone?). Languish in sunset hues of orange, red, and pink; or lolly in nautical blues and crisp whites. Hit the highway in on-trend prairie dresses or lightweight linen. Stay close to home in versatile shirt dresses. Whether at home or in the car, embrace embellished slides that can be set aside when you're ready to be grounded. • WATCH: My Fun, Mini, Midsummer Fashion Haul

I don't know how you spent your 4th of July weekend, but I spent mine online shopping. Was it just me, or were the sales especially good this year?!? I could have spent a lot more than I did, but I tried to keep it under control. LOL! I hit up three of my favorite websites and this is what I found... Chaser Cheap Trick Tee This tee arrived with an unexpected surprise: tiny holes! LOL! I didn't see them in the photo, but there they were! I thought they added character to the tee and wasn't upset about seeing them. Although I could wear a medium in Chaser tees, I went with a large so I could knot it in the front. I have a feeling I'll be wearing it A LOT. THIRTY-NINE 42 Frankie Y Drop Necklace This Y-shaped necklace is giving me disco vibes - and I'm here for it! This is the perfect necklace to dress up a plain tee or add some sizzle to a LBD (little black dress). Billabong Sunburnt Sky Maxi Kimono I saw YouTuber, ReMaking Missy, trying this on in an unboxing video. It was love at first sight. This kimono wasn't on sale, but I had to have it! I can't wait to pair it up with denim shorts and white tanks. Jean-ish® Ankle Leggings I love me some Spanx! These jean style leggings are no exception. Not only do I love the color and the length, they make my lower half look amazing. These super comfy pants hold you in through the tummy, give you great butt, and make your thighs look amazing. I can't say enough good things. I foresee these being in heavy rotation! Pillow Cup Signature Full Coverage Bra I am also a huge fan of Spanx bras. I usually wear the Bra-llelujah!® Full Coverage Bra, but I think this style is going to be a winner, too. My first impression is that it is very comfortable with great coverage (as promised). It gives a great shape under tees and smooths out upper back rolls. Another hit from Spanx. Venus Sailor Front Pants (thrifted from ThredUp) I am crossing my fingers that a few tweaks to these cute, linen pants will make me love them. They are a little snug across the tummy/hips/rear, but not uncomfortably so. I am hoping that because they are linen, that they will relax a little. I also think they are a little short - but that could just be me. I am considering adding to the hem to make them closer to floor length. We'll see! <<>> That's everything! See, I didn't do too much damage! If you like these hauls, be sure to DM me and let me know over on Instagram!

  • Unbox With Me! Amazon Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe // June 2020

My fashion boxes have been one of two things lately: (a) a complete win where I love EVERYTHING or, (b) a complete loss where I want to send it all back. This month's Amazon Personal Shopper by Prime Wardrobe box was no exception. I was excited when I previewed the items my stylist selected for me, but when I got them on...well...that was another story. You can see all the items I received in the video below - or, if you prefer, scroll down for a list of the items along with links. *Note: these links are NOT sponsored, but listed for your convenience. At the end of this post I'll show you what I kept and why! WHAT'S IN THE BOX: *Note: prices are not listed due to fluctuating pricing on Amazon. Cole Haan Women's Grand Crosscourt Tennis Flatform Loafer Flat The Drop Women's Gabriela High Neck Cut-in A-line Slit Maxi Sweater Dress Lark & Ro Women's Florence Ruffle Short Sleeve V-Neck Top Amazon Essentials Women's Short-Sleeve Surplice Cropped Wide-Leg Jumpsuit, Black find. Women's 18AMA045 Amazon Brand - Goodthreads Women's Denim Mid-Rise Raw Edge Short NINE WEST Women's wnMARINA3 Heeled Sandal Amazon Essentials Women's Short-Sleeve Surplice Cropped Wide-Leg Jumpsuit, Navy If you watched the video, then it's no surprise to hear that I kept the white, Cole Haan sneakers (I paid $89 for these, BTW). They are so comfortable! They feel like walking on clouds (I mean, I imagine that's what walking on clouds feels like...if one could even walk on clouds...but I digress). A white sneaker is such a classic summer staple. Even though I'll be spending most of the summer close to home, I still imagine getting good use out of them. I can't wait to throw them on with cut-off shorts or cute , summer dresses!

  • 4 Easy Ways To Elevate Your Leggings

Without a doubt, jeans are my go-to casual wear. But even this fashion plate can't live on jeans alone. Sometimes all you want is a good pair of stretchy leggings. Blame WFH life. But what are we going to do when quarantine comes to an end and we have to go back to work? Will we have to give up our stretch waist staple? Noooooooo! Let me give you four easy tips to take the "leggings life" right into your "new reality" (whatever that is). Long live leggings! A blazer is something that every woman should have in her closet. It's the quickest way to take a pair of leggings to professional status. This also goes for jeans and other casual wear. I'm not sure what it is about a blazer that says, "I'm in charge!" but it works. Go with it. Something that fits closer to the body will keep the whole silhouette streamlined. A full-length legging looks and feels more like pants (because the point is to take this staple beyond your living room). A matte, black legging has the most versatility, but if you can, splurge on a good pair of faux leather ones as well. They're sexy and tell people you mean business. To keep your look from going down the athleisure rabbit hole, add a top that looks flirty and feminine. No cropped tees or fitted tanks. Nothing that would make you look gym ready with a change of shoes or the loss of your jacket. Selecting something that floats over the hips will give you coverage and balance. Shoes determine the direction your look goes. A flat sandal or athletic shoe (even a fashion sneaker) takes your leggings into casual territory. A shoe with height will elongate the leg and keep you looking chic. See there! No need to give up the leggings you've been living in for the last six weeks. With a few tips, you can carry on living the stretchy pants life - just, please, throw them in the washer before wearing them in public.
